Macy's has voluntarily recalled 960,000 Martha Stewart Collection? Enamel Cast Iron Casseroles because the enamel coating can crack and break off during use, potentially becoming a hot projectile which can cause burns and lacerations to cooks and those standing nearby. Resolved Question: Will this shelter work, or is there a better alternative?
So I asked a question last week about a trip I'm planning in April to a semi-arid island for camping, I got great help so I'm back for more! So with all the water we'll have to carry in I got to thinking that instead of lugging the tent I should be looking for something lighter and compact. I came across this tent hammock, but it has no reviews. http://www.amazon.com/Grand-Trunk-Bivy-Extreme-Shelter/dp/B001M0O29M/ref=sr_1_1?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1314306330&sr=1-1 The mosquito netting is a must, as I've already read several accounts from previous visitors who complain about the bugs. Although it's semi-arid, it's still in the tropics so some kind of rain flap should be gotten, so this comes with both. But it seems on the pricey side to me. Ones without the rain protection, like the Skeeter Beeter, are only half the cost. Should I just take my $10 hammock, my tarp and a mosquito net LOL, all of which is considerably heavier (but still lighter than tent) than what this one offers at a total of only 40 oz

After hauling in 12 awards from various film festivals with the astoundingly successful 2010 release of their first film, "The Story", the adrenaline addicts over at The Ski Channel have done it again with their second film, "Winter" which is set to make its debut in early October.
With their first film having been filmed on location in Nepal, Antarctica, Chile, Alaska, Argentina, British Columbia, and the United States, "Winter" promises to take the viewer on a global whirlwind to some of the planet's most remote destinations in ways, which according to the trailer, "push the human spirit to its limit...and then a little further".
Launched in 2008, The Ski Channel is a Video on Demand Cable network that also operates one of the largest ski sites on the web. Features on the site regularly range from breaking ski news to equipment guides, and it also serves as a portal for adventure sports ranging from BASE jumping to Adventure Racing.

Looking For A Spacious Tall Tent? Here It Is!
Before we know it, spring will be here again. I am already feeling the urge to go camping welling up in me. It?s time to start bringing out my old hiking camping gear. But...yikes?my tent has a rip in it! It also stinks after a winter in a damp storage locker. I guess it?s time to look for a new tent! This time, however I?ve made a wish list. It has to be easy to erect and be a tall tent with tons of space. Tall and spacious enough to comfortably stand and walk around in. Happily, I?ve found the ultimate answer to all my wishes! Thank heavens those days will soon be over! This cabin style tent has a floor area of 156 square feet (bigger than some of the rooms in my house!) and the center height is 7? 3?. It also has a removable divider curtain that creates two rooms if you want some privacy. There are 2 big D-style side doors that offer a seperate entrance into each room. It's starting to look more like fall.Nara Discovers Her Feet
Kids are funny. They really don't see the world the same way we do. Obviously they don't have the cultural references or language yet, but they haven't really figured out everything about their bodies. One day Nara found her feet.
We usually dressed her in footed sleepers so naked feet were only available at changing time. That mean that every time we changed her, her feet went in her mouth. Those little hands aren't that coordinated either so there are a number of misses, but she is obviously happy when it all comes together.

When you have a baby, it's important that you don't let the details of life chain you to your house and habit. Going to the Island (when it was just Helen and I) used to be an easy affair - we both pack some clothes and basically go. When you mix in a Baby, it becomes a car filling affair. Even with the effort, it's important to get out and visit people.
We had brunch at the Kingfisher - the local spa/resort. It's an amazing spread so I'm always amazed that people agree to have their photos taken afterwards.
UBC Apple Festival
One year, many years ago, David and I were biking around UBC and we stumbled onto the apple festival. At that point it was small, free and a cool find. Given that fall can be short or reasons to get outside, the Apple Festival turned into a bit of a tradition for me. This year we added Nara!
